Fire crews battle car fire inside a garage in Soquel

Central Fire District in Santa Cruz County said a home on Bobwhite Lane caught fire Thursday morning, leaving residents without a place to stay.

Fire crews said a truck inside a garage caught on fire and later caught the garage on fire.

Crews said the fire was put out quickly and three residents and two dogs got out safely.

The American Red Cross is helping the residents out with a place to stay until power and gas service can be restored at the home.
