CHP: 5-year-old boy hit and killed by father’s maintenance truck in Prunedale

UPDATE: Investigators told News Channel 5 the family lives in Castroville and the kids

CHP officers are on scene of a fatal accident in Prunedale.

The accident happened just after 2:30p.m. Wednesday afternoon on Sundown Lane.

CHP officers say a 5-year-old boy was hit by his father’s maintenance truck as it rolled down a driveway.

Investigators say the father was doing work on a home on Sundown Lane in Prunedale when two other siblings saw it happen and ran inside the home to tell their dad.

The little boy was taken to the trauma center at Natividad Medical Center and died a short time later.

No one lives at the home where the work is being done.
