Multi-agency search in Gilroy for wanted man in Hollister Easter Sunday shooting

The Monterey Frontage Road has just re-opened in Gilroy after a three-hour search by multiple law enforcement agencies for an attempted murder suspect from Hollister.

Larry Quiroz is the last outstanding suspect wanted in a 2014 shooting on Easter Sunday in Hollister.

Santa Clara Sheriff deputies, Morgan Hill, CHP, and Gilroy Police all assisted in the search as well as a helicopter searching by air in the area of the Gilroy Sports Park.

Earlier Tuesday, Quiroz was spotted as a passenger in a white Honda by Hollister detectives south of the sports park. Quiroz ran from investigators when they tried to contact him just before 3:00p.m.

Santa Clara County Sheriff deputies were at one point turning people away from little league practice at the park but have since opened the area and are allowing practice to resume.

The search for Quiroz was called off shortly after 6:00p.m.

Two other men were arrested a month after the April 20, 2014 shooting on Washington St. in Hollister.
