MoCo starts move into former Captial One Building

Monterey County departments have started moving into the former Capital One building in Salinas.

In August, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors voted to purchase the former Capital One building to move the county’s main headquarters to that location.

The decision came despite opposition from local businesses and city leaders. Last week, the contracts and purchasing department moved into the building.

More departments will move in about six months. County supervisors hope to have every department moved in a year.
