#PositiveLocalNews: SVMH celebrates their tiniest of patients

Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System’s tiniest of patients gathered Saturday for a special reunion.

Hundreds of former NICU patients and their families gathered for the reunion called “The Magic of Little Miracles.”

To be invited, a family had to have a child who spent at least five days at the hospital’s level three NICU or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The Finlen triplets and their family from Salinas were there to celebrate as well.

“We are very blessed for all the doctors here: Dr. Castro, Dr. Glascock, all the nurses and staff for taking care of our babies and allowing them to come home, ” said Melissa Finlen.

The level three NICU at Salinas Valley Memorial can care for up to 11 babies at a time and is operated in partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford.
