SPCA Monterey County

CASTROVILLE, Calif. (KION) Four kittens are in the care of the SPCA of Monterey County after they were found in a bucket labeled "Free Kittens."

The kittens, found in an empty lot on the corner of Speegle and Seymour Street, are only 3 weeks old, so they should still be with their mother.

The SPCA does not know how long the kittens were inside the bucket without food or shelter before they were found by a community member.

The kittens will be placed in foster homes where they will be bottle fed and raised until they are old enough to be adopted.

Anyone who is unable to care for a pet is asked to contact the SPCA at 831-373-2631.
