SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KION) The California Office of Emergency Services says it will be sending an emergency alert at noon to regions under a stay at home order asking them to stay at home except for essential activities.

The alert will be sent via text to cell phone users in the Southern California and San Joaquin Valley regions, including San Benito County residents.

In addition to asking residents to stay at home, the text also urged them to wear masks and physically distance.

Both regions were put under regional stay at home orders when the ICU capacity dropped below 15%. The two regions will be able to come out of the order on Dec. 28 if ICU capacity projections for the next month are above or equal to 15%.
