MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) The SPCA for Monterey County said that in addition to its bi-weekly free pet food offerings, it will be holding pet food bank events in Greenfield and Seaside.

Every week, the SPCA gives out free pet food on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

These are the upcoming pet food bank events:

  • Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Patriot Park in Greenfield
  • Saturday, Sept. 19 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Seaside City Hall

The SPCA said it normally gives out about 5,000 pounds of pet food every year, but since the pandemic began, it has given out 48,000 pounds of free pet food.

Anyone who would like to donate can have food delivered to 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway, Salinas, CA 93908. They can also shop the SPCA's Amazon wish list here or donate on the website here.
