Department of Corrections reports three inmate COVID-19 cases at Salinas Valley State Prison

SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 6/24/2020 3:30 p.m. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation reports that three inmates at Salinas Valley State Prison have tested positive for COVID-19.

The agency reports that they are active and new within the last 14 days.

A total of three employees at the prison have tested positive for COVID-19, and one has returned to work.

Two employees at the Correctional Training Facility tested positive and both returned to work.

According to the department's population tracker, it is an active case.

In total, three employees at the prison have tested positive, and one of them has returned to work.

Two Correctional Training Facility employees tested positive and both of them have returned to work.
