Monterey Courthouse employee tests positive for COVID-19

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) The Monterey Courthouse confirms that an employee tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday afternoon.

Courthouse staff say the building was thoroughly cleaned Saturday.

The clerk's office is closed and all staff there were sent home to self-quarantine, but the court is open and hearings are continuing.

The clerk's office normally has around 15 people, and 20 people had to be sent home.
