Gov. Newsom speaks about racism, systematic injustice at news conference

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KION) Gov. Gavin Newsom is expected to speak about racism, systematic injustice and moving forward as a state at a news conference Friday.

The Office of the Governor said Newsom has met with community leaders, small businesses and elected officials about the issues.

Monterey and San Benito County officials said Newsom may release Stage 3 guidance for several business sectors Friday as part of his Resilience Roadmap.

According to the California Department of Public Health, there were nearly 120,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases statewide as of June 3 and 4,422 deaths.
