Pebble Beach Golf Links to host event for local healthcare workers

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (KION) Pebble Beach Company announced that it is hosting an event for front line healthcare workers from three Monterey County hospitals this week.

On Thursday, 180 healthcare workers from the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and Natividad will be part of the Health Care Heroes Day at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

The workers will be treated to a round of golf, free lunch and a chance to win raffle prizes that include future stays at the resort, golf and dining.

“We are honored to celebrate these local heroes who are serving on the front line in ourcommunity’s fight against COVID-19,” said Bill Perocchi, CEO of Pebble Beach Company.“I hope they can relax and enjoy a day on America’s #1 public golf course as a thank you in appreciation of their tremendous efforts on our behalf.”

CHOMP workers will have the course from 6:40 to 9:20 a.m., and President and CEO Dr. Steven Packer will greet guests at the first tee.

Natividad workers will have the course from 9:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., and CEO Dr. Gary Gray will greet guests at the first tee.

SVMH workers will have the course from 12:40 to 3:20 p.m., and CEO Pete Delgado will greet guests at the first tee.

The course reopened on May 4, but players are still subject to social distancing protocols.
