SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Monterey County District Attorney's Office said Hobby Lobby is complying with the Shelter in Place order in effect.

The DA's Office said it received a complaint that said the store was violating the Shelter in Place order, so it contacted the store.

After speaking with Hobby Lobby, the DA's Office said it came to the conclusion that it is considered an essential business because fabric and craft stores that supply materials to create PPE, businesses that supply products needed to work from home and mixed-retail businesses are allowed to remain open.

The only Hobby Lobby location in Monterey County is at Northridge Mall in Salinas.
