MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) Agriculture workers around Monterey County will be getting procedure masks that the county received from the state.

The Monterey County Emergency Medical Services Agency Medical Operation Area Cordinator (MHOAC) got 750,000 procedure masks that are specifically for agriculture workers, and 25,000 workers will get one mask per day for 30 days.

The masks are from the state's emergency PPE stockpile, so they come at no cost to the county or workers.

The county said the delivery is intended to keep essential agricultural workers safe because they often work close togehter.

The Monterey County Vinters & Growers Association, Farm Bureau, Grower-Shipper Association of Central California and the California Strawberry Commission will distribute the masks.
