PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (KION) After closing Lovers Point Park and Beach last Saturday, the City of Pacific Grove has partially reopened it Friday.

Lovers Point Beach is now open to ocean access for water recreational activities only. People can get to the ocean using the stairs closest to the Recreation Trail, but all other entry points will stay closed.

People will not be allowed to sit or lie on the beach and must maintain social distance. Activities such as surfing, swimming, diving, kayaking and paddle boarding will be allowed.

The city closed the area last weekend because police said beach-goers were ignoring social distancing rules at the beach.
