MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 4/17/2020 1 p.m. A spokesperson for First 5 Monterey County tells KION that it ran out of diapers and wipes during recent distributions.

The Food Bank for Monterey County handed them out along with food.

First 5 Monterey County said the line for supplies was 4 miles long in Pajaro.

"Because the need in our community is so deep, there were not enough diapers and wipes to meet the needs of everyone," said Nina Alcaraz with First 5 Monterey County. "We know that this will be an ongoing concern and we are continuing to look into how we can bring more of this resource here."

The organization had obtained 40,000 diapers and wipes.
