SAND CITY, Calif. (KION) Disaster Kleenup Specialists, a Sand City company that does restoration and hazardous material cleanup, is offering to wipe down and apply disinfectant to official city and first responder vehicles for free.

The company said the service will include a wipe-down of all high-touch surfaces; including doors, steering wheels and dashboards; and a ULV fogging/spraying of the vehicle's interior with a hospital-grade disinfectant.

“Our technicians deal with potentially deadly pathogens on a daily basis.” Said Theresa Ream, President and CEO of Disaster Kleenup Specialists, “We know the importance of keeping our vehicles clean to ensure the safety of our employees and those we serve… So, naturally, we thought it would
be an important thing we could do for our local first responders, to help ensure their safety and the safety of the public they serve.”

Technicians, who the company said are certified in biohazardous cleaning, will be wearing masks, gloves and full body suits while working.

The company will be providing the service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Floor Store USA on Contra Costa Street.

The service is also open to the public for $45 per vehicle. Technicians can do full-vehicle detailing as well, but if they are not being detailed, Disaster Kleenup Specialists requests that the vehicles are "whisk-broom clean" before the service begins.
