Video court returns to Monterey County Jail

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Monterey County Sheriff's Office announced that it has reinstated video court at the county jail.

The Sheriff's Office said the move will reduce the need for transporting inmates and help with social distancing while the Shelter in Place order is in effect.

The jail has suspended all visits while the Shelter in Place order is in effect.

The order is in effect until midnight on April 8.
