Gov. Newsom to attend opening of new lab, discuss increase in COVID-19 testing capacity

LOS ANGELES (KION) Gov. Gavin Newsom is in Los Angeles to attend the opening of a new laboratory that is expected to increase COVID-19 testing capacity in the state.

The lab is also expected to reduce the time it takes to get results and create hundreds of new jobs.

The lab was built through a partnership with PerkinElmer in hopes that it will help the state process as much as an additional 150,000 COVID-19 tests each day.
