Santa Cruz County reports 15 coronavirus cases

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION)

UPDATE 3/20/2020 12:40 p.m. The County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency reports a new coronavirus case, bringing the county total up to 15.

UPDATE 3/19/2020 11:00 a.m. The County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency reports that there are 14 coronavirus cases in the county as of Thursday morning.

The county is not releasing personal information about those infected with the disease, such as what city they live in, age or other health conditions.

There is a Shelter in Place order in effect for the county. It began Tuesday morning when there were 13 confirmed cases, and it will be in effect until April 7 at 11:59 p.m. The county is directing residents to stay at home and only leave for essential services and activities.

PREVIOUS STORY: The County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency said that as of Tuesday morning, there are 13 coronavirus cases in the county.

On Monday, there were nine reported cases.

As a result of the spread of the disease, the county issued a Shelter in Place order, directing residents to stay at home and only leave for essential services or activities.
