Live Oak students build greenhouse

Students at Live Oak Elementary experienced a real lesson in building a healthy environment.

Along with partners including Santa Cruz County Supervisor John Leopold, Devcon Construction, Kaiser Permanente Santa Cruz joined with its doctors and Habitat to purchase a greenhouse kit for the students.

The greenhouse is being built at the school’s Life Lab where students learn about the natural world and grow veggies that will lead to healthy living.

The Live Oak students will be able to use their new greenhouse and cleaned-up garden to start and nourish healthy vegetables, which will in turn nourish the children to Thrive.
