Kindness Monterey to host Care-A-Thon to help struggling restaurants

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) Kindness Monterey, a campaign created by local businesswomen to help restaurants and those left without jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is hosting a Care-A-Thon to benefit those who are struggling.

The campaign said the event, which will be aired live on the Kindness Monterey Facebook page, will consist of live concerts featuring 10 local musicians, interviews with local restaurant owners and a call to donate to the GoFundMe campaign.

Organizers said the musicians participating include Alisa Fineman & Kimball Hurd, Dennis Murphy, Kenny Stahl & Bob Burnett, Lee Durley, Robert Turner, Dave Holodiloff Trio, Kiki & the Wowettes, Haley Jane, Mira Malcom & Michael Martinez and Richard Bryant & Kyle Kovalik. The event will be produced by Kiki Wow and hosted by Destination 831.

The event is set to take place on Aug. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. You can find a link to the campaign's Facebook page where the event will be held here.
