A strong ridge of high pressure continues to be the dominant influence in our weather as it sits off to our north. Clockwise flow around the high will continue to direct warm, offshore flow through our area. Luckily, winds are expected to remain light. Outside of a few low clouds on the coast, expect warm & sunny afternoons into next week with cool nights. A weather system will slide by on Tuesday with a couple of days of high clouds preceding it. We are likely to remain dry, though, so don’t get your hopes up! The pattern may shift late next week into the second week of November to allow weather systems to reach farther south, but it’s too far out to tell for sure.
Sunday: Mostly sunny with a few high clouds moving through. Warmer yet with coastal highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s and 80s to around 90ºF inland.
Overnight: Mostly clear with patchy fog possible along the coast. Cool, with coastal lows in the 40s, 30s to low 40s inland, and 50s up in the hills.
Monday: A few high clouds possible, with mostly sunny skies. The warmth sticks around with coastal highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s and 80s to around 90ºF inland.
Extended: High temperatures will remain warm for all of next week. We’ll see scattered high and low clouds Tuesday, but no precipitation. Nights will remain seasonable to slightly cool.

-Area drought status: Moderate drought for much of Santa Cruz & Santa Clara Counties, Abnormally dry on the east shore of the bay into San Benito County. No drought classification for much of Monterey County outside of the Gabilan Range.
