A Bit of Coastal Cooling

ZACH WEATHER

High pressure will remain the dominant influence on our weather through the weekend into next week. A warm, dry air mass will be in place across the state of California during this time. At the coast, however, light onshore flow will keep cooler air and some low cloudcover in the forecast.

Friday: Patchy lows cloud along the coast with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s. Mostly sunny and warm inland with upper 70s to upper 90s. Becoming breezy for inland valleys in the afternoon.

Overnight: Low clouds the bay and adjacent valleys, with patchy fog possible. Expect coastal lows in the low to mid 50s with upper 40s to low 50s for inland valleys and upper 50s up in the hills.

Saturday: Patchy lows cloud along the coast with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s. Mostly sunny and slightly warmer inland with low 80s to upper 90s. Becoming breezy for inland valleys in the afternoon. The summer solstice occurs at 2:44PM PDT which is the official beginning of astronomical summer.

Extended: Not much change in the forecast through Father's Day into early next week with patchy clouds near the coast and seasonable temperatures and mostly sunny skies inland and slightly warm temperatures. Some high clouds are likely to stream in from the south by mid-week next week.
