Hollister man and mother arrested for warrant, battery on an officer

Hollister police said a man was arrested for a warrant, but his mother was also arrested for allegedly trying to help her son escape and battering an officer.

On Tuesday at around 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a call about loud music on the 100 block of Redwood Drive. Officers said they were familiar with a man who lived at the home, 37-year-old Nicacio Villalobos, and knew he had a warrant out for his arrest.

Officers parked their vehicles away from the home and walked up. Because of the loud music, officers said they were able to get close before being noticed. When Villalobos saw one of the officers, they said he ran toward a door, but one of the officers caught him in the doorway. Police said he fought with officers while they were arrested him and called out for his mother.

As the officer was trying to get Villalobos into custody, police said his mother, Maria Flores, opened the door and Villalobos told her to help pull him inside. Police said she tried to pull him in and hit an officer several times.

Villalobos was arrested on the warrant and new charges of resisting arrest. Flores was arrested for battery on an officer. Both were booked into the San Benito County Jail.
