Shed fire extends to Salinas apartment
A shed fire extended to a Salinas apartment complex near Beech Street and Garner Avenue, Thursday night.
The Salinas Fire Department says no one was injured, but multiple people are displaced. It destroyed a shed and garage, but the neighboring apartment only had exterior damage.
“At this point, it appears that the neighbor’s shed behind the garage is where the fire originated. That then extended to the fence, then extended to the neighbor’s garage, which impinged on the apartment complex,” said Salinas Fire Battalion Chief Scott Myhre.
People who reported the fire to authorities say they heard explosions, but there has been no official cause released.
Myhre says there were no injuries in the fire.
