Man killed in Moss Landing hit-and-run ID’d

UPDATE 3/27/2019 1:39 p.m. The California Highway Patrol said a body on Highway 1 near Struve Road found Saturday morning was the victim of a hit and run.

Officer Jessica Madueno says a CHP officer was driving around 9 a.m. and saw the body of a man on the right side of the road. He was already dead, and his injuries showed that he had been hit by a vehicle.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Joseph Hunt of New Hampshire.

Hunt’s injuries are described as “significant head and body trauma.”

There was no 911 call or reports of a body found, so officers are still looking for whoever was driving the vehicle. If you saw a person in that area prior to the hit and run or saw a vehicle with abnormal damage, you’re asked to call CHP at 831-796-2160.
