U.S. House (CA-20) candidates one-on-one in the KION studio
Ron Kabat is challenging incumbent Congressman Jimmy Panetta in California’s 20th district.
Panetta, a Democrat, is finishing his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives, after being elected in 2016. Kabat, no party preference, has run for this seat twice before, in 2014 and 2012 against Rep. Sam Farr.
California’s 20th Congressional District includes much of the Central Coast, from Ft. Hunter Liggett up the Monterey Bay coastline to Santa Cruz. The district also includes Watsonville, San Benito County, and the stretch of Highway 101 from Gilroy down through Salinas and south Monterey County.
Panetta and Kabat sat down in the KION studio for one-on-one interviews with KION’s Aaron Groff. They discussed issues ranging from sanctuary state laws, DACA, possible impeachment of President Trump, housing of veterans, the deficit, healthcare, crime, and more.
