Candidates for Salinas mayor discuss issues in KION studio

Amit Pandya is once again challenging incumbent Salinas Mayor Joe Gunter. Gunter is running for a fourth term, first elected to the position in 2012.

Both Gunter and Pandya sat down for extensive sit down interviews with KION’s Aaron Groff. They discussed the city’s homeless crisis, high housing costs, crime, and their priorities in office.

In 2016, Gunter defeated Pandya with 66 percent of the vote. Pandya had 34 percent.
