UPDATE: Police identify Salinas man who died after falling from cliff

UPDATE 9/7/15: Capitola police said the man who fell from a cliff and died over the weekend, was Joel Quintero, 23, from Salinas.

A Monterey county man is dead after he fell from a cliff in Capitola Sunday morning, according to Capitola police.

The incident was reported just before 3:30 a.m.

Police said the 23-year-old man fell from the cliff near Grove Lane.

Foul play is not suspected, police said.

The Capitola Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation along with the Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office.
