Monterey police investigate Saturday shooting near fairgrounds
Monterey police said detectives are investigating a shooting near the Monterey County Fairgrounds on Saturday night.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 7:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Fairground Road.
Police said callers reported hearing several gunshots and witnesses saw a Hispanic male and an African-American male leave the area.
Officers said a car in the back parking lot at Motel 6 was hit by a bullet and the driver was not hurt.
