Marina police search for assault suspect

Marina police said investigators are looking for a male suspect who assaulted a juvenile Tuesday night in the 3000 block of 17 th Regiment Court.

Officers said a juvenile had been physically assaulted and the suspect tried to sexually assault the victim as well.

Investigators said it happened in a wooded area north east of 17 th Regiment Court. Officers said the victim was treated and released at the scene.

Marina police said the suspect is a black man, 25 to 30 years old, last seen wearing a black hat, black pullover hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Officers said he was last seen traveling eastbound toward Preston Park.

Officers said a K9 unit was used in an attempt to locate the suspect.
