Scotts Valley man arrested for alleged pipe bomb devices

On Thursday, the Scotts Valley Police Department said seven pipe bombs were located at the home of Michael Malloy, 40, on Willis Rd.

Detectives said they went to Malloy’s home for a probation compliance check where they also found meth and marijuana.

Officers said two children were inside the home at the time.

The Santa Cruz County Bomb Squad was called out to remove the pipe bombs.

Malloy was arrested on charges of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a destructive device and child endangerment.

He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
