New K9 welcomed at Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) There is a new member of the team at the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office- K9 Jax.

Jax is a 15-month-old yellow lab who will specialize in narcotics detection at the corrections facilities. He will be sniffing for contraband in all custodial settings and outside before any of it gets into the facility.

The new K9 will be starting at the end of the week with his handler, Corrections Officer Marra Uva.
