Two kayakers rescued from water near Pro-Am

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (KION) Two local kayakers were rescued at Stillwater Cove Beach in Pebble Beach.

Officials tell us the men are okay. The two were in the water near the 9th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links at around 1:45 p.m. Friday when one of the kayaks started taking on water. A distress call went out and multiple agencies responded. Rescue swimmers and a rescue boat got to the kayakers, who were brought to Stillwater Cove Beach.

The two were evaluated by paramedics at the pier and released. The entire incident lasted less than 20 minutes.

The rescue is near where the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament is taking place. The area where the rescue is happened was blocked off, but the scene has cleared.
