The City of Salinas is asking that the Dick Bruhn's building be placed in receivership

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Dick Bruhn building in downtown Salinas has sold to Taylor Fresh Foods, according to City Councilmember Steve McShane.

The Dick Bruhn building was burned in a large fire back in February 2016, and its remains have stood empty at the corner of Main and Alisal ever since.

The City began seeking receivership in December of last year because the owners of the building had not made any moves to repair the damage. Under a blight ordinance, the city was able to seek appointment as a receiver, and a court order sided with the city and declared the building a safety issue, according to McShane.

As part of the sale, Taylor will also buy the Greyhound Bus Station.
